Hammes Bookstore Parking Lot
Ken Herceg & Associates, Inc. was hired as a subconsultant to design the new parking lot, loading dock, driveways, sidewalks and utility improvements as part of the construction of the Hammes Bookstore and Eck Visitor Center at the University of Notre Dame. The 125 space parking lot was laid out in a curvilinear fashion to preserve several mature trees. Driveways were installed to access Notre Dame Avenue and Holy Cross Drive. The location of these driveways was coordinated with the installation of a new guard station to provide a circulation loop for vehicles. Storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water lines were extended to the site as part of the project.
